Handing down verdicts is usually an activity reserved solely for courtroom judges (and perhaps your overly critical mother-in-law). But thanks to a brand-new, civic-themed brewpub in Downtown Tinley Park, anyone can give their own judgements on all sorts of tasty food and beverages!
The Vogt House by Banging Gavel Brews, which officially opened on Dec. 14 at 17400 S. Oak Park Avenue, features a full menu of craft beers brewed in-house. From the Hazy IPA “Offshore Trust” and the Berliner Weisse “Napoleon’s Choice” to the Irish stout “Sod’s Law” and the French Saison “Rule of Law,” Banging Gavel offers a wide selection of tasty drinks that we’re sure you’ll enjoy sentencing to serve time in your stomach!
The brewpub is located inside the historic Vogt House, which was built in 1865 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The owners have taken great pains to preserve the historic nature of the building so that visitors will feel like they’re experiencing a taste of the past along with fresh pours of the latest beers paired with delicious food prepared in their kitchen.
The Vogt House at Banging Gavel Brews is open from Wednesdays to Sundays. When the nice weather returns, so will the brewpub’s outdoor Bier Garten, so mark your calendars now! Be sure to check out the video below or visit Bangingavel.com for more information, or watch the recent segment on WGN-TV featuring co-owner Beckie O’Connor.
While you’re in Tinley Park enjoying everything else we have to offer, be sure to stop by Banging Gavel and experience an evening like no other filled with brews, food and live music. Consider yourself served!
